Your Heating Upgrade Options

There are a number of options for upgrading existing heating systems

Boiler replacement

Our plumbers and engineers are RGI and OFTEC registered.

Installing a replacement boiler with heating controls is the most cost-effective option.  Modern boilers are minimum 90% efficient. Oil or gas boilers will depend on property location and oil or gas availability.

The new boiler will be fitted with magnetic filters and the whole heating system will be power flushed to ensure maximum efficiency for years to come.

A new modern boiler will start approx €3000+vat. There are currently no grants available for new boilers, however, grants are available for heating control systems.

Heating Controls

Not having heating controls fitted will substantially increase your heating bill. Our engineers will install integrated heating controls;
 -  Thermostats
 -  Programmers
 -  Zone controls
 -  TRV's & Smartphone access controls

All of these combined wills ensure full control over the heating and hot water system. Properties can be heated in separate zones or only heat water during the summer months. Don’t waste money heating the entire house when it’s not needed.

Grants are available from SEAI and utility companies (€750 from SEAI better energy homes program, and up to €350 from utility companies).

Heat Pumps

Heat pumps are a renewable heat source that although a large initial outlay will pay for itself over time. Significantly lowering the properties carbon footprint.

Heat pumps run constantly at a low temperature ensuring the property is kept at optimum temperature. Heat pumps work with underfloor heating or low temperature radiators.

3 types of heat pumps are available;
 -  Ground source heat pumps
 -  Air-To-Water heat pumps
 -  Water source heat pumps

A BER of B2 is a minimum requirement for installing a heat pump. the property needs to be airtight and insulated to a high standard. A full deep retrofit will be required for older properties before a heat pump becomes a viable option.

Underfloor Heating

Under floor heating is a highly efficient means of heating a property. As part of a deep retrofit, underfloor heating is recommended combined with install of heat pump.

 -  The property will be transformed in terms of comfort
 -  Underfloor heating saves up to 40% on older radiator heating
 -  The water is heated to a lower temperature so ideal for heat pumps and solar
 -  Space is saved throughout the property without radiators

Upgrade Your Existing Heating System
... & Save Money!

Most older existing boiler systems are very inefficient with as low as 70% efficiency, with little or none heating controls.

These older boilers are expensive to operate and have a large carbon footprint.

A new efficient modern boiler will have a minimum 90% efficiency and reduce heating bills by up to 30%
